Employee Engagement
Employee Engagement can be generally defined as the emotional commitment employees have to their organization’s vision and mission. When employees are fully engaged, they go above and beyond to help achieve the goals of their organization.
Employee engagement is typically measured to fall within three categories: engaged, disengaged, and actively disengaged. By one estimate, only 33% of employee today’s global workforce are engaged. Organizations that observe high levels employee engagement outperform those that do not in several key areas of organizational performance, including customer ratings, rates of turnover, profitability, and productivity. More importantly, highly engaged employees themselves are more likely to report high levels of both emotional and physical well-being.
